Objectives

A mid-sized company representing five decades of experience in production of plastic precision parts and system for household appliances and automobile industry.

Problem Statement

Plastic Moulding and Manufacturing Company approached AM team to create a BI application which would allow their executives for user friendly and agile way to view executive reports through out their organization and streamline their reporting process. They want our team to move from business objects and evaluate other tools like Power BI and Tableau and provide suggestions on what would work best for them. Finally, they also wanted to leverage the KPI visualization power of Business Intelligence as the whole organization was moving towards defining KPIs across all their functions.

Approach

Given the problem, App Maisters identified their major KPIs and additional visualization for them to showcase the functioning of different Business Intelligence tools.

The KPIs were Revenue, Margin & Scrap. Each one of them had other attributes like customer, plant, department etc.

App Maisters created several reports for key matrices and worked collaboratively with the client to understand their preference regarding graph placement, font, colors etc. Being a global organization, it was very important that the graph conveyed the right information across different cultures and languages and views for different level of access and information.

Conclusion

AM team successfully delivered the project and the executive team at Montaplast was able to make meaningful decision based on the reporting we have provided to them.
