Astros Foundation

About the Client

The Astros Foundation, the official 501(c) (3) team charity of the Houston Astros, passionately leverages baseball fandom to support youth baseball and softball programs, honor the nation’s military, raise awareness for childhood cancer, and combat homelessness. Through their cornerstone initiatives – the Community Leaders program, the Astros MLB Youth Academy, and the Astros RBI Program (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) – they empower the youth, pay tribute to heroes, fight for critical causes, and address homelessness, making a profound and positive impact on the community they serve.

Project Objective

Our client’s objective was to design and develop an engaging sports-themed website tailored for elementary to primary-grade children, aimed at inspiring a love for reading while fostering healthy competition. The website aimed to encourage young readers to achieve their maximum potential by featuring a leaderboard that showcased their reading progress. As children read a variety of books, they were able to unlock opportunities to attempt multiple-choice questions related to the stories they explored. The ultimate incentive for their dedication was the chance to win exclusive tickets to witness an exhilarating baseball match between the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox. The website served as a platform to promote literacy, boost enthusiasm for reading, and create a fun and rewarding experience that nurtured a lifelong passion for both sports and learning.
