Background

A Houston-based company approached App Maisters to develop a SaaS Electronic Health Record (EHR) application tailored for psychiatric clinics in the United States. The project aimed to ensure seamless functionality for healthcare providers while maintaining HIPAA and HiTrust compliance. This initiative sought to revolutionize patient record management in psychiatric care, offering secure, efficient, and accessible records management to support critical services. App Maisters leveraged their expertise in secure software development and healthcare regulations to build a benchmark EHR system for mental health care.

Objective

Develop a cloud-based EHR application compliant with HIPAA/HiTrust to help clinicians track patient historical data, check-ups, reminders, correspondences, documents, lab results, and vital signs. Facilitate data sharing with other healthcare providers and send prescriptions electronically to pharmacies across the United States.

Solution

App Maisters developed the application on Azure Cloud, delivering a fully compliant HIPAA/HiTrust solution. The application was made FHIR compliant for easy information exchange with other healthcare applications. An e-prescription module was incorporated using Weno Exchange APIs, and the billing system was integrated with a third-party company. The solution utilized native cloud features of Azure and serverless architecture.
